Berea Arts Fest

Held on the second Sunday in September, The Berea Arts Fest, a one-day, invitational, multi-arts festival held in historic Berea, Ohio,

is a non-profit, volunteer, 501(c)3 organization. The Mission Statement of the Berea Arts Fest, Inc. is to “encourage involvement” in the arts by sponsoring and promoting activities and opportunities which foster creativity and enhance appreciation of the arts.

The twenty eighth annual festival will be held Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 10a-5p on Front Street, situated in the heart of Berea. Attendance is completely FREE and the festival takes place RAIN or SHINE! Approximately one hundred professional fine artists and craftspeople will display their works for sale. There will be a demonstrating artist and an Art Raffle offering chances to win art donated by the participating artists. Performing artists will entertain from multiple locations surrounding Coe Lake.

This year’s performances will continue to offer quality, diversity, and participation in the performing arts with an emphasis on a variety of talent and interaction with the audience.

The Festival committee is especially proud to encourage and support creative people with disabilities and students of all ages. In the Special Exhibits area, art & cultural projects are on display from groups throughout the greater Cleveland area: Very Special Arts (art created

by persons with disabilities); student art from elementary, middle, high school, college

and adult education classes from the Berea School District and Berea Historical Society

are also on display. A unique component of the festival is the Kids Kreation Station. This area was created to offer hands on arts experiences for the entire family. Each year there are approximately 3-4 projects that children can complete. In addition, there will be easel painting and face painting. Amenities include a chalk walk sponsored by Friends of the Library; local professional restaurant food booths offering a wide variety of ethnic and local foods; rest areas and security.

All sponsored activities are free, open to the public, and easily accessible. Over 150 community people participate as volunteers. The event has consistently drawn over 11,000 people at each event since 2002.

IngenuityFest 2018: FuturePast

  • Ingenuity Cleveland 2016 (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

We’ll celebrate IngenuityFest 2018: FuturePast on September 28-30 at our home at the Hamilton Collaborative, 5401 Hamilton Ave Cleveland, OH 44114!

IngenuityFest showcases creativity and innovation across sectors: it is a unique space to find something for everyone!

Get involved in IngenuityFest 2018 (exhibit! vend! play! make! sponsor! donate! volunteer!): http://ingenuitycleveland.com/ingenuityfest/!

We highlight maker activities; exhibits from small businesses and entrepreneurs; site specific installations; dozens of bands, dance acts and performances across multiple stages; art of all types; and projects from our IngnenuityLabs incubator members and partners at the Hamilton Collaborative.

$5 entry, children under 12 are free!

Our 2017 theme, Metamorphosis, was inspired by our changing Cleveland, but also by the work we’ve undertaken as an organization to expand our mission, broaden our consulting and outreach, and especially to deepen our impact as a catalyst and driver for the brand-new Hamilton Collaborative in St. Clair-Superior.

In 2018 our theme FuturePast celebrates the return of cherished traditions melded with the drive toward progress, forging a reimagined future of community, localism, and humanistic technologies. It represents a homecoming in many ways: our former industrial facility reawakening with new art and manufacturing, whimsical ideation, and a hum of imagination from the many renaissance women and men who call the Collaborative home. Join us September 28-30, 2018!

Lakewood Arts Festival

For forty years, the Lakewood Arts Festival has brought local and national artists to the streets of Lakewood, Ohio the first weekend in August. The Lakewood Downtown Arts Festival, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that administers the show with the help of a team of hard-working volunteers and the cooperation of the city of Lakewood, Ohio. The festival supports itself with money raised by entry fees, donations from community merchants, sponsorship funds and other efforts.

Besides supporting the festival, money earned or donated goes towards a scholarship for a local high school graduate, a Lakewood resident, pursuing a degree in fine arts, and toward grants awarded to local organizations presenting art programs for children and seniors in Lakewood. This year grants were awarded to Lakewood High School Barnstormers and the Photography Club, H2O (Help to Others) benefitting Lakewood middle-school students), Lakewood Catholic Academy arts programs, The Barton Center Senior arts activities, and The Beck Center for the Arts programs.

On average, one hundred and sixty-five artists are selected to exhibit. Awards, funded through the help of local businesses and community organizations, are presented to artists in categories of Best of Show, Second, Third Place, Best Creative Presentation and Best New Artist.

Every year a line-up of fine musical entertainment is scheduled throughout the day. A list of times for entertainment is available at the Information Booth and on the Entertainment page. A limited edition lithograph is available for a donation at the information booth as well. Every year they have a fresh new design done by a local artist. The sale of these prints provides funds to support our scholarship fund.

Where is the Willoughby ArtsFest?

The Willoughby ArtsFest is located in the heart of Historic Downtown Willoughby. Erie and Center Streets, Euclid Avenue, and Wes Point Park will be shut down and filled with artists.

How much does it cost to attend?

Since the inception of the ArtsFest, it has been a free event for the public to attend. Through the organization of the Willoughby Chamber and its ArtsFest committee, funds are raised through vendors fees, sponsors, auction tent and wine tent to sustain the yearly popular event.

Is the event accessible for those with disabilities?

There will be handicap accessible parking on Second Street in between Frank and Tony’s and Erie Street.

What else is there to do when I come to the ArtsFest?

This year the Wine Tent has been added to the Willoughby ArtsFest, located in the Citizen’s Bank lawn off of Euclid Avenue. Additionally, Downtown Willoughby has an abundance of restaurants for you to grab a bite to eat at and take break from the warm weather. Looking to do a little shopping? There are boutiques and shops also lining the downtown Willoughby streets. Todd Field, east of the downtown district is a great place to relax and check out the Chagrin River.

If I am coming from out of town, where can I stay?

We suggest the following chamber members for your stay in the Willoughby / Western Lake County area:
Best Western Plus Lawnfield Inn and Suites
Courtyard by Marriott in Willoughby
Holiday Inn Cleveland Northeast – Mentor
Stonehill Hotel Cleveland-Eastlake

What else is there to do in Downtown Willoughby this weekend?

The Willoughby ArtsFest takes place on the same weekend the “Oktoberfest in July” at Immaculate Conception. Feel free to spend the day at the ArtsFest and in the evening, walk up to the “Oktoberfest in July”.

I want to volunteer. How can I get involved in the ArtsFest?

Our volunteer page will provide you with all the information you need to become involved in the fun festivities of the day!

Where is the available parking for the ArtsFest?

Downtown Willoughby has a plethora of places to park within walking distance of the ArtsFest. There are various parking lots and side streets in and around Downtown Willoughby. For more information check out our parking map.

Our Venue

Twin Lakes Park is part of the Westmoreland County parks system. Twin Lakes Park has received national recognition for its programs and barrier free facilities.

Paved walkways encircle both the lower and an upper lake over a distance of 2.5 miles, providing one of the most pleasant walking and exercise paths in Westmoreland County and one that is handicapped accessible. Waterfowl can be seen at almost any time of year.

Fishing enthusiasts visit Twin Lakes Park year round, and there are even handicapped accessible fishing decks. The PA Fish Commission stocks both lakes with game fish, including a winter stocking that attracts ice fishing enthusiasts to the frozen lakes in the dead of winter. Live bait is available year round at the Boathouse.

Community Festival (ComFest) 2018

How much does it cost to get into ComFest?

The Community Festival is free to attend! There are no tickets or cover charges.

Where is ComFest? How do I get there? Where do I park?

The festival is held in Goodale Park, near downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Because of the traffic caused by our event, and to help the environment, we highly recommend riding a bicycle and using our $1 bicycle valet, or riding the COTA bus which will be running late on Friday and Saturday.

If you must drive, you should park in the Arena District, as most street parking in the neighborhood requires a residential parking permit; cars parked illegally in the neighborhood will be towed.

For more info, visit our Getting to ComFest page.

When are my volunteer shifts?

If you have already signed up and need a list of your shifts, just send an email to myshifts@comfest.com, and our shift robot will reply with shift details and important info.

How do I volunteer?

Fill out your volunteer application, where you can pick jobs and shifts that suit your unique talents. Applications are usually available by March.

Once the festival has started, visit the ComFest Volunteer Booth to sign up for a shift on-site.

What’s the minimum age to attend?

ComFest is open to all ages, however for their own safety, we ask that children be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents can get a wristband at KiDSART or Safety Base Station and write a parents cell number on it so we can quickly reunite lost kids with parents.

Who is performing? What is there to do at ComFest?

Workshops, speakers, dancers, music, arts & crafts, food and vendors—there is so much to do at ComFest. Our performance schedule is available at: comfest.com/stages. Even more event information is available in our annual Program Guide.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages from home?

NO! Carry-in alcohol is illegal in city parks. Police officers will be present at the event to enforce all laws. ComFest will have multiple Beer and Wine booths on Park Street and Goodale Street. Avoid a ticket (or worse) by buying your alcoholic beverages at the festival. Please cooperate with our NO BYOB volunteers and remove all alcohol from the premises when asked.

For more information, please visit our No BYOB page.

Are coolers allowed at ComFest?

We are asking that you please leave your coolers at home. We also ask that you do not leave backpacks unattended. Stay with your stuff and tag those bags with your name and cell number. If you bring something into the park, please take it back home with you. Otherwise, make sure to clean up after yourself, and use one of the recycling areas located throughout the event.

For more information, please visit our No BYOB page.

How can I have a booth or sell items at ComFest?

Fill-out and send us an application – they are available mid-January each year.

How can I perform at the festival?

Complete our online performer application.

Known as the showcase for the “best blues and jazz music in Ohio,” the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival (“CBJF”) is a premier family event destination.  First held in 1999, the CBJF began as a half-day event to commemorate the opening of Gahanna’s Creekside Park and the revitalization of the downtown Gahanna area.  Today, the Festival is a three-day cultural event that features more than 90 hours of world-class music on five stages, mouth-watering cuisine, regional artisans, amusement rides, family activities and more.  Each June, more than 35,000 people from across Ohio and the U.S. travel to Gahanna to experience a weekend of first class music, food, community, and fun.

One of the greatest allures of the CBJF is its unique setting.  Located along the picturesque banks of Creekside Park and in the heart of Gahanna’s vibrant Creekside District (117 Mill St. in Gahanna OH 43230), the CBJF has the feel of a small-town festival yet offers attendees unrivaled amenities.  Whether it’s listening to the hottest bands while enjoying a relaxing paddleboat ride down the creek, taking a break from the crowd and enjoying a delicious dinner at one of the several restaurants located within the festival grounds, participating in tasting experiences, or making crafts with the kids in the Family Fun Zone, the CBJF has something fun for everyone.

Programmed and presented by the Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau, a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit destination marketing organization, the CBJF would not be possible without the help of our generous festival partners, who provide support for the event through financial sponsorships as well as through their sharing of valuable volunteer hours.  Thanks to their partnership and patronage, the CBJF has become a time-honored tradition of music excellence, family fun and treasured memories for thousands.
