This shirt is screen-printed with my drawing about Pittsburgh history. It primarily focuses on steel production and the other industries that came along with it. The details include the structures within a steel mill, raw materials, steel and iron workers, coal mines, iron furnaces, barges, railroads, paint companies, glass companies, shipbuilding, bridges and much more. All of the details are specific places from the Pittsburgh area’s industrial history such as the Carrie Furnaces, Neville Island ship building, and Connellsville coke ovens. Also pictured are the downtown skyscrapers that were built as a result of these industries. I screen print these shirts myself in my home-based shop.
